Uttara east police station OC Mujibur arrested

Former officer-in-charge of Uttara East Police Station Mujibur Rahman was arrested on charge of mass killing during July-August mass uprising.

He was arrested from the Dhaka University area around 3:00 pm on Sunday (February 9).

Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Gazi Tamim Hasan confirmed the matter.

He said that the former Uttara East Police Station OC Md. Mujibur Rahman was arrested after the International Crimes Tribunal issued arrest warrants against seven people, including two policemen, in a case of crimes against humanity committed in Mohakhali, Rampura and Uttara in the capital.

He will be brought to the tribunal, he added.
