Mahfuz Alam, adviser of the interim government, said that he did not threaten, rather he warned those who are carrying out attacks in various parts of the country in the name of ‘Touhidi Janata’.
He made the remarks in a post on his verified Facebook account around 9:45 pm on Tuesday (February 11).
Mahfuz wrote, “I did not threaten you who identify yourself as the Touhidi Janata, I warned you. Why did I? By enduring oppression for one and a half decades and playing a role in the uprising, you, like all citizens, have presented a national potential. But due to mob culture, it is being finished. In this case, you are the ones who have to protect this potential.”
Stating that he has no hatred on the ‘Touhidi Janata’, he wrote, “I do not hate you, but rather, I have a compassion for you like all citizens of Bangladesh. I have respect for alems. I myself am a Touhidist as a believing Muslim, but I consider it my duty as a fellow citizen and responsible person to warn about the imminent consequences if someone shows extremism in the name of Touhidi Janata.”
