Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the chief adviser, said that the government wants to ensure responsible journalism in the new Bangladesh. We must ensure that journalism where everyone can criticize the government.
The press secretary said this while addressing a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Sunday (February 16).
He said, "For the past 15 years, general people have not been allowed to speak. A commission has been formed to ensure media freedom already."
"The government is working to ensure that everyone in the country can speak their mind," he added.
