Bangladesh receives Tk16,000cr in remittances in 15 days

Bangladesh received US $131.22 crore remittances through legal channels during the first 15 days of February, the central bank says.
According to data released by Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Sunday (November 16), expatriates have sent more than two billion dollars in remittances for six consecutive months since last August.
The data showed, in the first 15 days of February this month, more than US $131.22 or Tk16,000cr in remittances. Of them, $46.65 crore came through government banks while, $8.87 crore arrived through two specialized banks, $75.39 crore through private banks.
Earlier, Bangladesh received remittances of $2.09 billion in July and $2.03 billion in August, which became a blessing amidst the forex crisis.
