Travel ban imposed on Kazi Nabil Ahmed

A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on former Member of Parliament (MP) from Jashore-3 constituency Kazi Nabil Ahmed, his mother Amina Ahmed, two brothers Kazi Anis Ahmed and Kazi Enam Ahmed over graft charges.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Tuesday.

Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Rezaul Karim in his plea said it is probing allegations of money laundering against Gemcon Group, owned by Nabil's family, and its sister concerns through bank fraud and other corruption. The accused persons are trying to flee the country to evade justice and travel ban should be imposed on them, he added.
