None to be allowed to use title ‘doctor’ without MBBS, BDS degree

No one will be allowed to use the title ‘doctor’ before their names without MBBS, BDS degree, according to a High Court verdict.

An HC bench of Justice Razik-Al-Jalil and Justice Sathika Hossain passed the order following a rule on Wednesday (March 12).

The court stated that no action would be taken against those who have used the title "Doctor" without holding an MBBS or BDS degree up until now.

However, the legal action will be taken against those who will use the title of doctor violating the law from Thursday (March 13).

Earlier, the verdict was set for today after hearing two separate writs on February 25.
