Travel ban imposed on Maya, wife

A travel ban has been imposed on Awami League presidium member and former minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and his wife Pervin Chowdhury on over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Thursday.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the petition. 

The ACC in its plea said the former minister has allegedly amassed huge illegal wealth in his and his family members' names by taking commissions from local contractors, selling party posts and nominations, embezzling government funds and laundered the money abroad.
