Home adviser asks law enforcers to thwart AL rallies

Home Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has asked the law enforcement agencies to prevent the Awami League from holding processions and rallies in the future.

“Instructions have been given to the law enforcement agencies to ensure that the Awami League cannot hold processions in the future. If they fail to thwart AL processions and rallies, action will be taken against them,” he told journalists after inspecting the Airport Police Station in the capital on Saturday (April 19).

The home adviser said, “The government is thinking of posting ordinary police members in their respective divisions. We have such a plan. We want the police force to properly discharge the duties assigned to them for the sake of public security.”
