Remittance inflow rises by $2.75bn in April

The country received US$2,752 million in remittances in April, marking 34.6 percent year-on-year growth.
Bangladesh Bank’s updated data confirmed the matter on Sunday (May 4).
The country logged a total of $2.04 billion in remittances during the same period last year.
Central bank officials said that the current government has taken a strict stance on money laundering. As a result, sending money through various illegal channels, including hundi, has decreased. Consequently, remittance collection through legal channels has increased.
