On May 10, the Advisory Council of the interim government decided to ban the politics of the Awami League in the country.
Protests held in various parts of the country, including the capital, demanding a ban on the activities of Awami League, the party of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted following a student-led uprising last year.
In the wake of the situation, the Advisory Council of the interim government took the decision at an emergency meeting.
