Police officer dies after being hit by train in Dhaka

A police officer was killed after being hit by a train near Airport Railway Station in Ashkona of Uttara on Saturday night (May 17).

The deceased was known as KM Monsur, 40, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Dakkhin Khan Police Station. He was posted at the Dakkhin Khan Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The accident took place in front of Ashkona Farid market around 9:30 pm. Later, he was taken to Kuwait Friendship Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead. Later, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Airport police station’s Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter.
