Investors stage coffin procession protesting fall of index

The investors staged a coffin procession in front of the Bangladesh Bank and Dhaka Stock Exchange in the capital protesting continuous fall of index.

Meanwhile, the protesters demanded the resignation of Khondoker Rashed Maqsood, the chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).

At the same time, they demanded the removal of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) Chairman Professor Abu Ahmed.

The stock investors have also warned of strict action if their demands are not met within the next 48 hours.

General investors have lost their capital due to the continuous fall of the stock market. Following the issue, the general investors staged the protest program led by the Bangladesh Capital Market Investors Association this noon. The organization's president SM Iqbal Hossain, coordinator and spokesperson Nurul Islam Manik and other leaders and activists attended the program.
