‘AL has no chance to participate in elections if suspension order not lifted’
Election Commissioner (EC) Abdur Rahmanel Masud has made it clear that Awami League has no chance to participate in elections as it is not registered. 

He said, “The government has banned Awami League’s activities, the Election Commission has suspended Awami League’s registration. If the suspension order of registration is not canceled or withdrawn, the party will not be able to participate in elections, there is no chance.”

In response to a question about whether the commission thinks that an acceptable election will be held without the Awami League, the election commissioner said, “The time has not yet come to answer this question.”

He said, “The Election Commission is ready to implement the election within the time set by the Chief Adviser.” 

Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Akhtar Ahmed was the special guest at the workshop. 

In addition, senior officials of the divisional and district administration and police were present as guests. 

A total of 70 election officers and data collection officers from different districts and upazilas of Rajshahi division participated in the workshop.
