Finance Adviser hints positive regarding dearness allowance

Financial Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed has given a positive signal regarding the dearness allowance for government employees.

The government would consider the issue of providing dearness allowances to the public servants in the next national budget for FY26. However, he denied revealing the percentage of possible dearness allowance.

The Finance Adviser was responding to queries of reporters after chairing two separate meetings on the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affair and the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase on Tuesday (May 20).

When asked about the possible dearness allowances for the public servants, the Finance Adviser denied talking over the issue in details adding that the government has been working on it.

He said that the government is actively considering the issue of providing dearness allowance to the public servants.
