The hearing on the swearing-in of Ishraque Hossain as the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) ended on Tuesday. The High Court will give an order on it on Wednesday.
On Tuesday (May 20) afternoon, a High Court bench of Justice Md. Akram Hossain Chowdhury and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury fixed the date after a hearing.
Earlier, at 2 pm, the same bench fixed the afternoon for the re-hearing. At that time, the court said, “Considering the importance of this case, it will resume at 4:10 pm. We will hear it as long as it takes.”
Advocate Mohammad Hossain stood for the writ petitioner. Earlier, Deputy Attorney General Mahfuzur Rahman Milon stood for the state and Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon stood for Ishraque.
A Md Mamunur Rashid filed the writ petition.
