Satkhira former-reserved seat MP Laila Parvin sent to jail

Laila Parvin, former reserved seat MP and the education and human resources secretary of the Awami League's (AL) Satkhira district unit, has been sent to jail.

She was produced before the court on Tuesday noon.

Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shaminul Haque confirmed the matter. 

Police arrested Laila Parvin early Tuesday (May 20). 

Laila Parveen has been in hiding since August 5. She is an accused in a case under the Special Powers Act filed at Satkhira Sadar Police Station on February 18 this year, the OC added.
