Ishraque supporters gather at Nagar Bhaban, Kakrail

Supporters of BNP leader Ishraque Hossain have gathered at the Kakrail and other key areas to demand that he be sworn in as the mayor of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

In addition, the supporters are also standing in front of the city hall with the same demand.

Protesters assembled around 11:00 am at Matsya Bhaban blocking the roads in the area. As a result, a huge traffic jam was created there and caused suffering to the common people there.

The protesters have also threatened to besiege the High Court if the verdict goes against Ishraque's favor.

Earlier on May 13, a writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking its directive to prevent BNP leader Ishraque Hossain from taking oath as the DSCC mayor.
