Travel ban imposed on ex-NBR chairman Muneem

A court in Dhaka has issued a travel ban on former NBR chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmantun Muneem and three others - over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Wednesday (May 21) following a petition of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Earlier, ACC Deputy Director Saiduzzaman filed the petition.

The ACC in its report said, "It has been from the reliable sources that the accused are trying to flee the country to evade justice and that is why a travel ban should be imposed on them."
