Ishraque’s directive not to leave streets 

BNP leader Ishraque Hossain has directed his followers and party workers not to leave the streets over the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayoral oath-taking issue. 

In a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday (May 21) afternoon, Ishraque Hossain wrote, “There is only one instruction – as long as necessary, you cannot leave the streets.” 

BNP party sources said that the party’s central leaders have strictly directed the workers to remain on the streets. 

Political analysts see Ishraque’s announcement as a strategy to gain momentum in the movement.
