BNP has expressed fears that the past fascism is likely to return, if the next election is delayed.
A four–member delegation said this to Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Muhammad Yunus at a meeting on Saturday night.
BNP leader Dr Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain briefed the newsmen after the meeting.
He said “If the election is delayed for any reason, we believe that fascism may return and the nation will have to suffer. The responsibility for this will lie with the current government and those associated with it.”
BNP leaders have also demanded of the interim government to hold the national election by December this year.
The meeting began at the CA’s residential office, State Guest House, Jamuna, around 7:30 pm.
The four-member BNP delegation headed by Dr Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain includes standing committee members Dr. Abdul Moeen Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Salauddin Ahmed.
