Jamaat demands clear roadmap for reform, election

Jamaat-e-Islami has demanded of the interim government to give a clear roadmap for reforms and the national election. 

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman said this to newsmen after a meeting with Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guest house Jamuna on Saturday night.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “We have sought a clear roadmap for reforms and the national election. However, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus did not mention any time limit.”

The absence of a clear roadmap for reforms and the upcoming national election has created doubts among people, he added.

Addressing speculation about demands for resignations, Rahman clarified, “We did not ask for anyone’s resignation.”
