Bangladesh gets 226cr USD in remittances in first 24 days

Remittance flow in Bangladesh is increasing ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. The country received $2.24 billion in the first 24 days of May. In local currency, the amount stands at Tk 27,626 crore.
The information was revealed in an updated report published by the central bank on Sunday (May 25).
The average daily remittance received was $93.7 million or Tk 1,151 crore.
According to the data, Tk66.52 crore came through state-owned commercial banks and Tk20.50 crore through specialized state-run agricultural banks. Private commercial banks facilitated the highest share, receiving Tk137.16 crore, while foreign banks brought in Tk41.30 crore.
