BNP leader shot dead in Dhaka’s Badda

Two unidentified miscreants shot a leader of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to death in a film style in the Middle Badda in Dhaka on Sunday (May 25) night.

The incident took place around 10:06 PM on road no 4 at Gudaraghat area in the capital.

The deceased was identified as Kamrul Hasan Sadhan, a Joint Convener of BNP’s Gulshan Thana unit.

Badda Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Saiful Islam said two unidentified assailants attacked Sadhan while he was sitting with some locals. The assailants, at one point, opened fire on him, leaving him seriously injured on the spot.

Later, locals rescued him from the spot and took him to Heart Foundation Hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

The body was kept at Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, the police officer said.

The OC said that police were investigating the incident and working to identify and arrest those involved in the murder.
