Protests to continue at Secretariat Tuesday

The Bangladesh Secretariat Officers and Employees Unity Council will continue their protest rally at the Secretariat for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday (May 26), opposing the draft of the Government Service (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025. 

Leaders of the association announced this from an emergency of gathering on Monday.  

Officials and staff began gathering at Badamtala in front of Building No. 6 of the Secretariat since Monday morning. Gradually, a large number of officials and employees arrived there at 10:30 am. 

Md.Badiul Kabir, one of the leaders, said, “The strike will continue until this ordinance is cancelled.” 

Earlier on May 22, the Advisory Council approved a proposal to amend the Government Service Act and issue it in the form of an ordinance.
