Azharul Islam joins rally at Shahbagh

After getting the release, ATM Azharul Islam, the then assistant secretary general of Jamaat-e-Islami, has joined a public rally at Shahbagh in the capital.
Around 9:30 AM, he walked out of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU)After necessary formalities and joined the rally. Meanwhile, Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and other top leaders welcomed him.
Earlier, on Tuesday, a seven-judge bench led by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed acquitted death row-convict Jamaat-e-Islami leader ATM Azharul Islam from the charged of crimes against humanity case.
On December 30, 2014, the then International Crimes Tribunal-1 sentenced Azhar to death on three charges of crimes against humanity and imprisonment on two other charges.
