Moon Sighting Committee to fix Eid-ul-Azha date this evening

The National Moon Sighting Committee will sit for a meeting this evening to determine the date of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, one of the largest religious festivals of Muslims.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 pm after Maghrib prayers at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram in the capital. Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain will preside over the meeting.

The Islamic Foundation has urged people to report any sighting of the Zilhajj moon by calling 02-223381725, 02-41050912, 02-41050916, or 02-41050917. Faxes can be sent to 02-223383397 or 02-9555951.

The Foundation also requested that any sightings be reported to the respective Deputy Commissioner or Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).
