Travel ban imposed on ex-minister Abdur Rahman, 9 others

A court in Dhaka has imposed a travel ban on former fisheries and livestock minister Abdur Rahman, his wife Dr Mirza Nahida Hossain and eight others over graft allegations.
Others facing the travel ban include Shamsul Arefin, Milk Vita official, Jinia Farzana, wife of Kazi Shafiqul Alam, Kazi Arya Binte Shafiq and Kazi Anusha Binte Shafiq, daughters of Kazi Shafiqul Alam, Ahmadul Bashar, former APS to a former Shipping Ministry minister and Hakimun Nahar, wife of Ahmadul Bashar.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Thursday (May 29).
ACC public relations officer Aktarul Islam confirmed the matter.
According to ACC's statement, Mirza Nahida Hossain acquired wealth worth Tk6.30 crore illegally. ACC argued that preventing their departure is essential for an effective investigation.
