Govt failing to realize aspirations of people: Tarique 

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has once again called on the interim government to immediately announce the specific date for the next national election by December, saying the government is failing to realize the aspirations of the people.

Tarique Rahman made the call while addressing a discussion virtually organized by BNP at the Engineers Institution auditorium in the capital on Thursday (May 29). 

The discussion was organized marking the 44th death anniversary of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam.

Tarique Rahman said, “Immediately announce the date of the national election with a specific date by December. There is no victory or defeat of the interim government here. Rather, help democracy win by giving a fair election to the democracy-loving people.”

Claiming that the interim government is out of touch with common people, Tarique said there would be no need for politics if the country were to be run only through administrative file work.
