Finance Adviser to unveil budget 2025-26 via BTV

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed is likely to unveil the national budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 (FY26) tomorrow through Bangladesh Television (BTV).

According to the Finance Ministry, the budget speech will be broadcast on BTV at 4 pm on Monday (June 2). However, it will not be live broadcast. The Financial Adviser will go to the BTV office in Rampura and record some parts of the budget speech, which will be broadcast at 4 pm.

The Advisory Council will meet at the Chief Adviser's office on Monday at 11 am. The proposed budget will be approved there. After that, the Financial Adviser will go to the BTV office to record the budget proposal.

The proposed budget is usually announced on the first Thursday of June every year. This year, the budget is being announced on June 2 as the Eid holiday begins on that day. As per tradition, the Ministry of Finance organized a press conference on the afternoon of the day after the budget announcement.
