Bangladesh receives $2.97 billion in remittance in May

Bangladesh received $2.97 billion in remittances in May through legal banking channels.
The updated information from the Bangladesh Bank confirmed the matter on Sunday (June 1).
In local currency, the amount stands at Tk 36,531 crore. The average daily remittance received was Tk 1,178 crore.
According to the Bangladesh Bank, remittances in May 2024 stood at $2.25 billion. This year's May figure represents a sharp 31.7% increase year-on-year.
