Products that might see price drop in 2025-26 budget 

The first budget of the interim government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus and the country's 54th budget is today. Financial Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed will present the national budget of Tk 790,000 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26.

The Financial Advisor will present a pre-scheduled budget speech on Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar on Monday (June 2) at 3 pm.

The upcoming budget is expected to propose reductions in source tax, import duties, and VAT on several products. As a result, the prices of these products may decrease.

Notable products on the price reduction list include sugar, paddy, wheat, pulse, vegetable oil, salt, LNG, utensils made from various natural materials, ball point pens, computer monitors, packaged liquid milk, sanitary napkin, diaper, leather goods, soyabean, paper industry, newsprint used in newspapers, cricket bat, locally made software, foreign juice, PVC pipe, copper ware, LED lights, rice bran oil, tire-tube, fuel, bus-micro bus import cost.
