Tk125cr allocation proposed for women entrepreneurs

In the budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, it has been proposed to allocate a fund of Tk 125 crore for women entrepreneurs.

Financial Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said that this allocation has been proposed to improve further the business environment for women entrepreneurs and strengthen their economic empowerment.

In his budget speech, he said that to ensure the safety of women, skill-based programs have been taken up for women through the National Women's Training and Development Academy. Training is being provided through the training centers at the upazila level.

He said that 20,000 selected women have been trained under the VWB program for women's empowerment and poverty alleviation.
