Home Ministry gets Tk 31,000cr 

A total allocation of Tk 31,039 crore has been proposed for Ministry of Home Affairs in national budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.

The information was announced by Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed during his budget speech for the fiscal year 2025-26 on Monday. His speech was broadcast live on Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar.

Out of this, Tk 27,001 crore has been proposed for Public Security Division and Tk 4,038 crore for Security Services Division.

In his speech, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed stated that to improve the quality of security services, requirement of obtaining a police verification report for passport issuance has been relaxed. Additionally, e-passport services have been launched in 59 Bangladesh missions abroad.
