With the Eid-ul-Azha at the doorstep, the cattle markets in the capital have become crowded with buyers and sellers.
Seasonal traders have started selling animals in alleys of different areas, apart from the permanent and temporary cattle markets designated by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporations (DSCC).
The sale of sacrificial animals has also started in livestock farms established by private initiatives in different areas. In some farms, sacrificial animals are being sold at a price of Tk 550 per kg (live weight).
Such a scene was seen while visiting Trimohani, Gournagar, Basabo Madartek, Goran, Rampura and Khilgaon areas of the capital on Wednesday (June 4).
Bargaining is going on between buyers and sellers in the cattle markets. Some people are buying their sacrificial animals as per their choice after bargaining.
On the occasion of the sacrifice, the crowd of buyers and sellers is increasing in the cattle markets as the Eid nears.
After visiting the area, it was seen that there were adequate number of cows and goats.
