December is suitable for national election: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that December is suitable for a parliamentary election in the country.

The BNP leader made the remark after paying tribute to the party founder late President Ziaur Rahman at his grave in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Saturday.

Fakhrul said, “April is not suitable for holding polls in Bangladesh. There is extreme heat during that period with chances of storm and rain. It is also not suitable for Ramadan and public examinations.”

Fakhrul flanked by other senior leaders placed a wreath at the grave and offered munajat seeking the salvation of Zia's departed soul.
