Home Adviser Lt General (retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said, “If allegation brought against one is proved, then he will be punished. We will definitely bring him under the law. Why should we punish an innocent person?”
Former President Abdul Hamid returned home after undergoing treatment in Thailand on Sunday (June 8) night.
The Home Adviser said this in response to a question from journalists in the city on Monday about why he was not arrested even after returning home.
“There are some cases that have not been investigated. Those who will be found guilty in the investigation will be brought under the law. You (journalists) have always said that the innocent should not be punished under any circumstances”, he said.
