Dhaka streets still almost empty

The image of the capital Dhaka has changed. No traffic congestions, no traffic signals. There is no rush of vehicles at intersections. The streets of capital Dhaka are largely empty now. As a result, those who are still in the capital are traveling in comfort.

The cinerary was seen on Monday, the third day of Eid-ul-Azha.

The government announced a 10-day vacation on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Azha, one of the two biggest festivals for Muslims. The vacation started from June 5.  Most of the people left Dhaka to share the joy of Eid-ul-Azha with their relatives.

On Monday (June 9), different areas of the capital were found largely empty. There were no major signals on the important roads of the capital. A few passenger buses were seen on the roads.

Some private cars, passenger buses and motorbikes were seen plying on the empty roads. However, there was light traffic pressure in Gabtoli, Sadarghat and Mohakhali areas.

Mainly the pressure of people and vehicles began to decrease since Wednesday afternoon. That day was the last working day in the government offices before Eid.
