Muggers dressed in RAB uniforms rob Tk1.8cr in Uttara

Muggers wearing uniforms resembling those of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have snatched Tk 1.8 crore from a distributor of mobile financial service Nagad in Dhaka’s Uttara.

The incident took place around 8:32 am on Saturday (June 14) in Uttara sector 13 on road number 12, said DMP Uttara Division’s Deputy Commissioner Mahidul Islam.

He said that the victim (Nagad distributor) was going to his office on a motorcycle with a bag of money from his house. On the way, the muggers in a microbus came and snatched the money. We are working on the matter.

Police are collecting and analyzing the license plate number of the vehicle and CCTV footage from the area. Although no case has been filed in this incident so far, Uttara West Police Station is trying to arrest those involved.

Wing Commander MZM Intekhab Chowdhury, Director of RAB's Legal and Media Wing said the criminals will be brought to justice quickly.
