The country is likely to experience heavy rainfall for three consecutive days starting from Monday as monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued a forecast in this regard on Saturday (June 14).

The Meteorological Department also said that there is a risk of landslides in some parts of the hilly districts due to very heavy rainfall.

Shahinul Islam, a meteorologist, said that due to the activity of the southwest monsoon, heavy (44-88 mm/24 hours) to very heavy (88 mm/24 hours) rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Chattogram, Barishal, Khulna, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions in the next 72 hours from 10 am on Monday (June 16).

The Meteorological Department also predicted that temporary waterlogging may occur in some parts of Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas due to the heavy rainfall.
