Gold prices hiked again in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has increased the gold price again, citing a volatile global market and rising local costs of pure gold.
The Bajus have fixed the price of a bhori (11.664 gram) of 22-carat gold at Tk1,74,528.
The decision came during a meeting of the Bajus standing committee on pricing and price monitoring on Saturday (June 14), the association said in a statement.
The new rates, which take effect on Sunday (June 15).
According to the Bajus notification, the government-determined 5 percent VAT and the minimum wage set by the government at 6 percent must be added to the selling price of gold.
