Dengue claims one life, 249 hospitalized in 24hrs

One death and 249 fresh cases were reported from dengue in 24 hours till Sunday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh 30 and number of confirmed cases to 5,988 this year.

In a regular press notice, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the data on Sunday (June 15).

Among the newly admitted patients, 134 are in Barisal division, 39 in Chattogram division, 9 in Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 8 in Dhaka North City, 35 in Dhaka South City, and 8 in Khulna division.

According to the DGHS data, 222 dengue patients across the country were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of discharged patients this year to 5,299.
