2 DB members hurt in shooting by drug dealers in Paltan

Two members of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) were injured in a shooting by suspected drug dealers in the capital’s Paltan area.
The incident took place around 1:00am on Thursday (June 19).
The injured officers are assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Atiq Hasan and constable Sujan, both attached to the DB’s Lalbagh Division.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Enayet Kabir Shoaib of DB Lalbagh Division said that three people have been arrested in this incident.
Police said that a DB team led by Lalbagh Division Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Enayet Kabir Shoaib conducted a drive in the area. When the police stopped a private car opposite the hospital, the drug dealers in the car opened fire on the DB policemen. The two policemen were injured in the shooting.
