Bangladesh has started the process to bring back around 100 of its citizens stranded in Iran amid ongoing military conflict between Iran and Israel.
Nazrul Islam, Alternative Foreign Secretary said this on Thursday (June 19).
He said that a list of about 100 Bangladeshis is being updated there, and now the process of how to return them has begun.
He also said as of Wednesday (June 18), we have spoken with the Bangladeshi ambassador to Iran, and all the embassy officials and their families have moved to a safe place. They are doing well, and none of our officials have been injured there so far.
In response to a question, Nazrul Islam said, "There were about 400 Bangladeshis in Tehran. So far, about 100 have contacted us. Since we have launched a hotline, this number may increase."
