Tk 1 lakh bill for tea: ACC to probe

One of the top leaders of National Citizens Party (NCP) Hasnat Abdullah has complained that an official of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) sought BDT 1 lakh from NCP joint chief coordinator Dr. Mahmuda Mitu for taking tea.

Hasnat Abdullah narrated this allegation on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday. 

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will investigate the matter. 

ACC Director General Md Akhter Hossain informed this at a press briefing on Wednesday..

Hasnat Abdullah attached three video clips to this Facebook post. 

He said the corrupt officials of ACC must be subjected to stern actions. The martyrs of the glorious July Revolution did not sacrifice their lives for paying bribes to ACC officials, Hasnat Abdullah stated. 

Hasnat Abdullah wrote on Facebook that two ACC officials introducing themselves as Deputy Directors and DG asked Dr. Mahmuda Mitu for BDT 1 lakh for taking tea. 

He added that it is often said by people BDT 1 lakh is the latest rate for bribes sought by ACC.
