Finance Adviser urges NBR officials to withdraw their protest

Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed has urged the agitating officials of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to withdraw their protest.
NBR Chairman Md. Abdur Rahman Khan also said, “We have got an idea of how the misunderstanding happened. Hopefully, the problem will be resolved by tonight.”
The Finance Adviser and NBR Chairman told this to journalists after a meeting for about two and a half hours in the meeting room of the Finance Ministry at the Secretariat on Thursday (June 26) night.
Meanwhile, the protesting staff and officials of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) have announced a complete shutdown from June 28 if the NBR chairman is not removed.
Leaders of NBR Reform Oikya Parishad announced this at a press conference on Thursday.
NBR Reform Oikya Parishad President Hasan Muhammad Tareq Rikabdar and General Secretary Sehela Siddika were also present.
They will go into a complete shutdown from June 28 if the NBR chairman is not removed by June 27, they said.
