Traders want withdrawal of ‘complete shutdown’ program at NBR

Traders have called on the agitating officers and employees of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to withdraw programs like pen break and ‘complete shutdown’ in the interest of the country’s economy and join work immediately without preconditions.

They said the removal of the Chairman of the Board of Revenue is not desirable in any way. At the same time, the traders urged the government to take urgent steps to ensure the future of the agitating officers and employees and to prevent the country’s economy from being damaged.

The traders said this at a press conference held at a hotel in the capital on Saturday (June 28) afternoon.

The press conference was organized by the country’s leading trade organizations.

The press conference was informed about the current deadlock situation at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and its impact on the national economy, including export-oriented industries.

Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) President Anwar-ul-Alam Chowdhury (Parvez) read out the written statement of the press conference.
