Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no 3 as a low-pressure area has been formed over the northwest Bay and adjoining Bangladesh and West Bengal coast.
A maritime warning bulletin of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) confirmed the update on Sunday (June 29).
Assistant Meteorologist Afroza Sultana said that signal number one has been raised at river ports and signal number three at sea ports due to the strong winds blowing over different regions of the country.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
