Dengue claims 1 more life; 383 hospitalized in 24hrs

One more death was reported from dengue in 24 hours till Sunday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 42 this year.

A total of 383 have been hospitalized across the country during the time, according to the regular report issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

"During the period, 136 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division while 55 were hospitalized in Chattogram, 48 in Dhaka division, 32 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 28 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 41 in Khulna, 10 in Mymensingh and 33 were admitted to different hospitals in Rajshahi division," said the notice.

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.
