We will build discrimination-free Bangladesh: Nahid

National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Md Nahid Islam has said, “We have called for building a discrimination-free Bangladesh,  we will return home after building that country”.

“No one give blood to remove one party and install another party. We will not give any more opportunities for extortion, looting, and occupation in this new Bangladesh. We will return home after building the discrimination free Bangladesh", he said.

He said this at a road show program at Shaheed Minar square of Gaibandha Municipality at 3 pm on Tuesday (July 1) on the occasion of the month-long ‘July Uprising procession’.

Nahid Islam said, "The fear we had in the mass uprising has been removed. We will not allow a new culture of fear in this country. The martyrs gave their blood in the July mass uprising. We took to the streets, if necessary, we will give blood again. Bangladesh must follow the path of the July mass uprising."

He said, “The fascist Awami League, which carried out shootings and attacks during the July uprising, is still conspiring in various ways too. They are conspiring while sitting in India.”

"We have come to the streets with a call to build a new country. We have come to the streets to overthrow Sheikh Hasina in 2024. But our new country has not been built yet," he added.

He went on saying: "We have come to the streets to build that new country. That is why we started with Gaibandha. The people of Gaibandha have been victims of economic discrimination for a long time. We have come to talk about the rights of those whose rights have not yet been realized."

Nahid Islam said NCP talks about the civic rights and dignity of all people regardless of religion or caste.
