17 lakh taxpayers file their returns online 

Over 17.12 lakh taxpayers filed their returns digitally in the fiscal year that ended on June 30.

According to the National Board of Revenue (NBR), more than 21.65 lakh individuals completed their e-return registration during the same period.

In a press release issued Monday, the NBR highlighted this surge as a major success of its digital transformation efforts aimed at bringing tax services directly to taxpayers’ doorsteps.

The revenue authority reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing automation and digital solutions to make tax compliance simpler and more accessible.
